5 Unique Supplements to Add to Your Diet to Maintain Your Balance
By Lauren Turinetti | June 1, 2018
Eating a colorful diet with the full rainbow of veggies with lots of high-quality fats and high-quality protein will do much more for you than even the best supplement. That being said, if you are serious about performance levels or want to supplement the occasional nutrient-lacking day in your busy lifestyle, supplements do have a place. The five following unique supplements will help you workout harder and recover faster, naturally and gimmick-free.
Grass-Fed Whey Protein
Many whey proteins are denatured and challenging to digest. Grass-fed whey protein is made from pasture-raised cows, so it is packed with essential Omega-3 fatty acids and high-quality protein to feed your cells. According to Kyani U.S., “Omega-3s are found in EVERY cell in the body, particularly in the brain and heart.” So, make sure you take your protein at the right times throughout the day.
Most scoops of whey can deliver a whopping 25 grams of protein and over 5 grams of branched chain amino acids. A healthy Whey protein is free of fillers and is sweetened with stevia, making it a perfect addition to the diet of the sugar-conscious. You can also buy it plain if you are one of those strange people who doesn’t like chocolate. Research also shows that whey protein may be superior to soy protein, so shake it up with some homemade almond milk and vanilla extract and watch your energy bounce off the walls.
The small addition of a few electrolyte drops to your water could make a huge difference. Magnesium helps to increase glucose availability and exercise efficacy, according to this study. Potassium and other trace minerals are also crucial for improving circulation and mitigating muscle cramps. Because these minerals are harvested from natural sources, they are bioavailable and easy to absorb.
Vegan Protein Blend With Hemp
Unable to have whey but still want a protein punch? Most Vegan protein powder is packed with all essential amino acids from pea protein, cold-extracted hemp seeds, vitamin-C rich goji berries, and/or MCTS from coconut to boost workout recovery. One scoop typically packs 15-20 grams of protein.
Chia Gel Energy Packets
Chia seeds, traditionally the staple of Incan and Mayan culture, are also a great staple addition to your workout. Chia seeds are loaded with amino acids and are also a good source of calcium. This workout supplement combines chia seeds with grape juice concentrate and brown rice syrup (quick-release energy), lemon juice, strawberry puree and concentrate, water sea salt, coconut water (electrolytes), and caffeine (more energy).
BCAA Recovery and Electrolytes
If you are a top workout junkie, you may want to try this unique and potent, multi-purpose beetroot supplement for workout recovery and optimum performance. It contains the following ingredients:
- Cold-pressed beetroot juice powder, which is packed with natural nitrates. These natural nitrates convert to nitric oxide, which may boost performance.
- L-Arginine and Citrulline, both of which improve circulation and immune response.
- Branched amino acids are essential for muscle repair and recovery
- Electrolytes, including potassium, sodium, and chloride.
- Vitamins B6 and B12, both of which are important for cellular level performance
Just remember, no supplement can replace hard work and a healthy diet, so go out and work hard!

5 Reasons Exercise and Supplements Go Hand-in-Hand
By Lauren Turinetti | May 14, 2018
Many people who exercise may wonder if exercising alone is enough to meet their health and fitness goals. They wonder if it’s also beneficial to use dietary supplements. Learn more about the benefits of supplementation and why it’s recommended for people of all ages and backgrounds. In the content below, we take a look at why supplements are essential to include along with your exercises.
1. Build Muscles
Whey protein is derived from whey, a byproduct of the cheesemaking process. The body quickly absorbs this protein, and this allows quicker recovery time for anybody looking to build strength, muscle, or even just tone up! Anyone who wants to recover better is recommended to use this product after workouts. The supplement should be used in addition to a diet that is high in natural and whole food sources of protein as well
2. Get Daily Nutrients
You need the proper nutrients to supplement your active lifestyle and exercise. A multi vitamin is a quick and easy way to fill any holes in your whole-food based diet. Taking a multivitamin does not give you free reign to eat junk food the rest of the time. It will however provide you your daily recommended dosages of vitamins and minerals, and should only be used to well-balanced diet every day.
3. Affect Weight Loss
Healthy supplements can keep your metabolism working in high gear all day long. Whey protein in a healthy snack that will help you feel fuller for longer periods of time, reducing the amount of snacking you do. Other supplements such as caffeine have been shown to increase your metabolism and boost fat loss.
4. Reduce Injuries and Increase Recovery
Essential fatty acids help to create and repair cells. Fish oil, flax seed or other Omega-3’s are great ways to consume healthy fats in a convenient way. Our bodies need these components for optimal health and hormone levels. This has positive impacts on your recovery rate post workout, helping you get back out there for your next workout.
5. Increase Water Uptake
An important part of any supplementation plan is hydration. In order for your body to get the most out of your supplements, don’t skimp on the water! Water also removes toxins from the body and promotes homeostasis. Your body is balanced from the inside, helping you to concentrate more and lose weight.
Many people wonder about the effects of taking supplements while they exercise. Know that the many supplement products are beneficial and contain nutrients that you need to function correctly every day. How To Get Fit Without Even Realizing It!
By Lauren Turinetti | May 7, 2018
You might think that changing your ways in order to improve your health is difficult, but if you break the process down into smaller steps, transforming your lifestyle (and your body) becomes much easier. Here are our recommendations for simple, effective lifestyle changes that will positively impact your health:
Learn How To Cook Meals At Home
Stop getting fast food and stop eating frozen meals from the grocery store. Cook real meals. You can enroll in a cooking class, or you can watch videos online to learn how to prepare delicious meals. If it makes it easier, you could even try a meal planning app or service. Instead of eating a lot of fat, sugar or sodium, you can buy fresh vegetables along with low-fat proteins so that you can prepare nutritious meals for lunch and dinner.

Limit Your Alcohol Consumption
If you are drinking a lot of alcohol, then it is damaging your health. Excess alcohol consumption can lead to problems with your liver, and drinking too much can affect you mentally. You might begin to make poor decisions while drinking such as driving a vehicle or engaging in risky behaviors with others. Alcohol has tons of hidden calories that can sabotage your progress. When you want to stop drinking but can’t, it is time to seek help at a rehabilitation facility.
Remember To Socialize Frequently
An important part of being healthy is socializing frequently. You can do this by having an enjoyable hobby that has groups of people that meet to talk about their interests. Alternatively, you can become involved in community activities. Experts recommend socializing approximately twice a week to prevent health problems such as depression.
Exercise Several Times a Week
Make the most of your time for exercising by engaging in an intense CrossFit program at a local gym. With this form of exercise, you are enjoying several types of physical activities, including calisthenics, gymnastics and interval training. You won’t get bored with this type of exercise program, and you can also compete with other individuals who are participating in the routines.
Don’t Smoke Cigarettes
Smoking cigarettes is bad for your internal organs, causing damage that can shorten your lifespan. If you can’t stop smoking on your own, then begin to use nicotine patches or participate in a smoking cessation program. Within a few months of overcoming the cigarette-smoking habit, you will notice a change in the way that you feel.
Make Healthy Living a Habit
By beginning a healthier lifestyle today, you can improve the way that you feel right away. Continue to have healthy living habits so that you will have a longer and happier life that doesn’t include having frequent illnesses or immobility.
